Junior Associate, Dispute Resolution

Tillie qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2023 and brings over 7 years’ experience in litigation. She joined the firm in 2024 and has since broadened her dispute resolution practice to include international arbitration and complex commercial matters.

Tillie’s focus is on DIFC Courts litigation, her experience ranges from the Small Claims Tribunal to the Court of Appeal, she has been involved in a number of commercial and employment disputes, jurisdictional challenges and recognition and enforcement proceedings.

Tillie also has experience in DIAC arbitrations and often works closely with local UAE counsel on disputes which cross over between DIFC law and UAE Law. Tillie has also advised on non-contentious employment matters relating to both DIFC and UAE law.

Tillie works closely with both employers and employees, as well as scale-up companies and larger international businesses. She also has experience acting against global businesses in employment disputes.

  • A dispute between two Dubai companies in the DIFC Courts over alleged fraudulent back-to-back commodities trades

 

  • Jurisdiction challenge proceedings between a Dubai based entity and a Chinese state entity for the recognition and enforcement of an arbitral award obtained in Singapore

 

  • Discrimination proceedings in the DIFC Courts for an individual against a DIFC based employer

  • A dispute between a UAE company and a US company under DIAC proceedings, arising out of a sale and purchase agreement for aircraft parts.
